Melissa C. Martin

M.S., FACR, Certified Medical Physicist, Vice-President

Melissa Martin joined Therapy Physics in 1992 and became president in 1995.  Melissa has been very active with the American Association of Physicists in Medicine, serving as President in 2017. She is also very active with many national radiation oncology organizations, including the American College of Radiology (ACR), the American Board of Radiology (ABR), The Council of Radiation Control Program Directors (CRCPD), and the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO).

She has served as the representative from the United States to the International Atomic Energy Association (IAEA) international shielding working group that is developing international rules for radiation shielding of high energy linear accelerators. She has delivered a number of presentations on shielding design, including serving as program director for the AAPM summer school on shielding design.
